The full name for Yung Kien Factory is "Yung Kien Industrial Corp. Ltd.". It is situated at Yen-Shui town in Tainan county of Taiwan, which officially started operation on October 1993. This factory occupies more than 19,835m².

Its objective is allowing Shuang Hor Group to supervise product quality and productivity in an efficient way. It ensures the upstream activities of research and development, selection of Lingzhi species, cultivation of the spawn as well as the downstream activities concerning production, inspection, and distribution, hence attaining perfect quality control standards under stringent requirements.

Yung Kien Factory is currently the world largest and most advanced bio-chemical Lingzhi manufacturing plant. It has developed the unique and state-of-the-art "Dual-phase Extraction Technique", for which micro processors are used in controlling the time, temperature, and the entire production process to avoid any human negligence and pollution of micro-organism, hence achieving the highest quality of production. Its Lingzhi products are distributed to all overseas branches to meet the demand of the enormous market.

Factory Layout


Main Building (referring to Production Room, Bio-Technology R & D Institute, Lingzhi Science Museum, Administration Centre, and Employee Cafeteria), Secondary Building (referring to Lingzhi Species Cultivation Centre, Indoor Experimental Farm, and Warehouse), Multimedia Theater, Employee Dormitory, and a basketball court.

The layouts of the factory structure are designed in accordance with the most modern Dust-Free Partition System, and in full compliance with the standards and stipulations of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in Taiwan. It also adopts fully automatic computerised systems, in addition to complete peripheral facilities built within the factory compound, which even includes a Raw Water & Effluent Treatment Centre.

Where miracles happen
Lingzhi Spawn Cultivation Room works with Experimental Farm in the research of various Lingzhi species to produce top-grade spawns for large scale cultivation in the Lingzhi Farms, ensuring continual supply of raw Lingzhi for all production purposes in Yung Kien Factory.

The facilities in Lingzhi Spawns Cultivation Room include Spawn Inoculation Clean Room, Optical Microscopes, Dissection Microscopes, a liquid gas storage tank for spawn preservation, equipment for producing sawdust medium packaging bags (performs all steps from sawdust mixing to filling), a high-pressure sterilizer vessel for spawn bottles and packaging bags, a cooling room, a mycelia running room, and an experimental farm. This is where the growth conditions and compositional differentiation of 50 to 60 species of Lingzhi are being exhaustively studied by a dedicated team of professionals.

All products of Shuang Hor are subject to inspection by the professional team using precision instruments to meet the highest quality benchmark in terms of safety, hygienic concerns, and efficacy of the effective constituents.

The precisions instruments and various advanced devices currently available include Auto Absorption Spectrophotometer, apparatus for High-Performance Liquid Chromatography, Photo-Diode Array Detector, Fourier-Transform Infrared (FT-IR) Spectrophotometer, apparatus for Gas Chromatography (GC), Dietary Fiber Tester, and Nano-particle Detector, etc.

It is also the first and only science and research centre in the world specializing in the study of Lingzhi.

Lingzhi Science Museum with the support of Lingzhi Species Cultivation Centre and Indoor Experimental Farm has on display real samples of Lingzhi of various stages, allowing visitors to catch a glimpse of the actual growth conditions of Lingzhi.
